For those using satnav, our postcode is YO22 5AN Please note, this postcode covers half the village and so doesn't lead you directly to our door. The easiest way to find us is to follow the satnav until you see the church. Follow the track behind the church to the end and you will find us on your left.

Finding us...

from the West

We are 22 miles north of the A64 which will bring you into North Yorkshire from Leeds, York, etc. Leave the A64 following signage for Pickering and Whitby, taking the first left off the roundabout and following the A169 up through Pickering, and past RAF Fylingdales Beyond Fylingdales you'll cross a small bridge over a beck and 400 yards later you'll see Goathland signposted on your left. Take the left turn and follow the road into the village, turning right at the roundabout next to the church, then first right just after the church down the track. You will find us on the left at the end of the track.

from the North

(i.e. Middlesborough and the A1/A19/A66 from Newcastle and Northumbria) You'll come down the A171 to Whitby. At the roundabout just before Whitby town, take the right turn signposted Goathland, Pickering, etc onto the A169. Follow the road up through Sleights and onwards up Blue Bank. As the road levels out, you'll see Goathland and Beck Hole signposted on your right. Take the right and follow the road down into the village, over the railway, past the shops etc. Follow the road until you see the church, then take the left hand turn down the track just before the church. You will find us on the left at the end of the track.

from the South

(i.e. Scarborough and the Humber area) You'll come up the A171. Follow it up towards Whitby and turn left at the traffic lights just before Whitby town, following the A171 towards Middlesborough. Go straight over the first roundabout and then at the second, take the first left on the A169 towards Goathland and Pickering. Follow the directions from the North on the A169 as above.

By public transport: The Coastliner 840 bus stops right next to the village church a mere 2 minutes walk from our front door. The 840 stops in several towns and cities with useful transit links, for example Leeds, York, Pickering and Whitby, so although Goathland feels a million miles from civilisation, it is actually easily accessible.
